A brilliant day out in the green and pleasant land of the Yorkshire Dales - stunning views, lovely weather and the 3 highest "peaks" in the county to bag in one day. Pen y Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough - 26 miles, 1800 metres of ascent and a lot of sunshine (and food and drink!)
There were 4 starters and 3 finishers - my little sister couldn't quite make the last peak, looks like the strict pre-walk training regime didn't materialise! ;-) Oh well, there was a convenient pub to drop her in as we walked by for the last one.

After Pen y Ghent there's a long slog across the rolling hills below towards Whernside past the Ribbleshead Viaduct. This is probably the worst bit of the challenge as it's just that - a SLOG.

Ingleborough is the most amazing landscape and this photo doesn't do it justice - moonscape meets limestone meets crazy rock formations. Awesome. A great day out if you're looking for a bit of a walking challenge but don't want the logistics and driving madness of the National 3 Peaks challenge (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon).
Cheers guys for a brilliant and entertaining day :-)
